Christ Like exists downstream. Countless people have come through the doors, desperate, dirty and lost. They have said many times, we were their last stop before jumping off a bridge and ending their life. It is a very familiar reminder to many of us at Christ Like who first arrived under the same conditions. It is very intentional that those people encounter us at their darkest hour and in their deepest despair. We found something to live for at CLS and get to share that with others. CLS is the people that love, accept and live with such a joy and give so generously even in poverty.
CLS is where the prodigal son comes back home just to be a servant in his Father’s house. He wasted his life and wealth and when he comes to his senses is welcomed and celebrated without his past mistakes being held against him. Unfortunately, CLS is the exception in Placerville as the only year around, open-door ministry that hasn’t compromised those standards of mercy.
